Football Recap: Crestview Bulldogs vs. Escambia Gators
After flying high against Navarre last Friday, Crestview came back down to earth. The Crestview Bulldogs fell just short of the Escambia Gators by a score of 23-20 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zi Morris, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown. Morris' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayzion Mcqueen, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Escambia had a senior duo take command as Nino Freeman threw for 212 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt and Georqirous Moultrie rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Escambia, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Crestview is on the road again on Friday to play Tate at 7:00 p.m. Tate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.2 points per game this season. As for Escambia, they will host Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escambia will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
