Preview: White Longhorns vs. Turner Lions
White is 5-0 against Turner since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The White Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Turner Lions at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On October 4th, everything came up roses for White at home against Adams as the team secured a 49-12 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as White just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, Turner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Adams 62-32. Turner was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.
Despite the loss, Turner got a solid performance out of Edgar Castilla, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.
White's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Turner's defeat dropped them down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for White against Turner when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 53-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for White since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
