Basketball Recap: Fairfield Union Comes Up Short

Fairfield Union was the 53-47 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Fairfield Union Falcons opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-43 loss to the Washington Blue Lions.

It was another big night for Noah Haithcock, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards for Washington. Another player making a difference was Jeston Everhart, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Fairfield Union has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Washington, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5.

Fairfield Union will square off against Hamilton Township at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hamilton Township will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Fairfield Union surely won't give up without a fight. As for Washington, they will challenge Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
