Baseball Recap: Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Wins Going Away Against First Baptist Christian

On Friday, everything went the Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Storm's way against the First Baptist Christian Eagles as the Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Storm made off with a 14-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Joshua Lonsberry made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Lonsberry was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Noah Chandler and Ian Walker did most of the damage at the plate: Chandler scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Walker scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Keonta Brown was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Baptist Christian only posted an OBP of .407.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics now has a winning record of 2-1. As for First Baptist Christian, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics will venture away from home to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 6:00 p.m. on March 11th.
