Softball Recap: Beresford Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Tri-Valley

Beresford faced Tri-Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Watchdogs fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 14-13. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (ten), the Watchdogs still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Beresford and nudges their season record down to 8-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Tri-Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Beresford and Tri-Valley will both be playing Elk Point-Jefferson the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Watchdogs will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
