Baseball Recap: Argenta-Oreana Gets the Win

Argenta-Oreana took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Villa Grove, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bombers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blue Devils on Thursday. This was payback for the Bombers, who suffered a 7-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

MJ Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Camfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Argenta-Oreana and bumps their season record up to 12-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Villa Grove, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Argenta-Oreana is set to challenge their familiar foe Okaw Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Villa Grove will take on rival Cerro Gordo/Bement at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
