Softball Game Preview: Biggs Wolverines vs. Maxwell Panthers

The Biggs Wolverines will face off against the Maxwell Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Biggs has five straight victories, Maxwell has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Biggs got the win against Portola by a conclusive 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Maxwell fell victim to Hamilton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 24-0 to the Braves. Considering the last time the Panthers couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Biggs' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Maxwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Biggs took their win against Maxwell when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
