Baseball Recap: Omaha North Comes Up Short

After flying high against Louisville last Tuesday, Omaha North came back down to earth. Omaha North took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellevue East Chieftains on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Omaha North saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor O'Neill, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. O'Neill also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Colin Kinman was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Omaha North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Omaha North's record now sits at 2-2. As for Bellevue East, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Omaha North will take on rival Bellevue West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bellevue East is set to square off against their familiar foe Millard North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
