West faced Spanish Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Dons, falling 3-0. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

While West had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Spanish Fork, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

West has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Uintah on the 22nd. As for Spanish Fork, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Sky View on the 25th.
