Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hannah Croskey and Joscilyn Crenshaw Lead Orrville to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norwayne, Orrville was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish, sneaking past 3-2. For the Red Riders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Fighting Irish walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Orrville wouldn't go down easily and took St. Vincent-St. Mary into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 19-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Orrville was led to victory by Joscilyn Crenshaw and Hannah Croskey. Crenshaw had 16 digs and one assist, while Croskey had 11 digs, three blocks, and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Orrville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Vincent-St. Mary only served six aces.

Ella Kim and Averie Lash certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Kim had eight digs and one assist, while Lash had eight digs.

The victory got Orrville back to even at 1-1. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, their record is now an identical 1-1.

Orrville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Loudonville on the 23rd. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Hoover on the 23rd.
