Soccer Game Preview: Urbana University vs. Bloomington Central Catholic

Urbana University is 0-8 against Bloomington Central Catholic since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Illineks will head out to face off against the Saints at 4:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Urbana University is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to Danville.

Meanwhile, Bloomington Central Catholic's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamsville. While losing is never fun, Bloomington Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Williamsville are ranked 21st).

Bloomington Central Catholic has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season. As for Urbana University, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Urbana University might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Bloomington Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Illineks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
