Basketball Recap: Truckee Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sophia Killian and Becca Brown

Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 28-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sparks Railroaders. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Railroaders earlier this season, when they won 33-26.

Truckee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Becca Brown, who posted seven points, and Sophia Killian, who put up eight points.

Sparks' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Hunden, who had ten points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Shea Patterson, who earned eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Truckee's record now sits at 4-9. As for Sparks, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10.

Truckee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-24 defeat against North Valleys on the 31st. As for Sparks, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wooster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
