Baseball Recap: Woodcreek Comes Up Short

Woodcreek was the 8-2 winner over Vista del Lago when they last played one another back in May of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Woodcreek fell just short of Vista del Lago by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.

Bryson Ruiz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodcreek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Palmer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Palmer a new career-high. Another was Christian Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Woodcreek's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Vista del Lago, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

While Woodcreek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
