Smiths Station took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Carver Montgomery, posting a 34-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Opelika fell victim to Prattville and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 20-0 to the Lions. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Opelika's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Smiths Station, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
