Softball Recap: Fairfield Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Fairfield took on Clay on Saturday. The Lions skirted past the Panthers 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Rilee Quickle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jobey Hattan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Fairfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clay, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fairfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Waverly on the 29th. As for Clay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Western on the 31st.
