Basketball Recap: Cary Takes a Loss

Cary lost against Holly Springs back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cary Imps fell 52-42 to the Holly Springs Golden Hawks.

Despite the loss, Cary still got an impressive performance from Riley Garner, who went 5-for-7 en route to 18 points. That's the most points Garner has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyndall Brewington, who had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Amy Lissow continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Holly Springs, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Lissow is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Kalaesia Lincoln was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Cary's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Holly Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Cary has already played their next contest, a 47-34 defeat against Apex Friendship on the 11th. As for Holly Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-51 loss against Panther Creek on the 11th.
