Basketball Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland lost against Rothsay back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Richland Colts lost to the Rothsay Tigers on the road by a 58-39 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Colts came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 66th in North Dakota, while the Tigers are ranked 225th in Minnesota).

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Rothsay, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Richland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-52 defeat against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] on the 13th. Rothsay has also already played their next contest, a 75-40 loss against Parkers Prairie on the 14th.
