Basketball Game Preview: Proviso East Pirates vs. Hinsdale Central Red Devils

The Proviso East Pirates will challenge the Hinsdale Central Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Saturday, everything went Proviso East's way against Thornwood as Proviso East made off with a 57-33 victory. With the Pirates ahead 32-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Proviso East's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zulema Montoya, who went 5 for 11 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Montoya has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Amyiah Dunbar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Hinsdale Central waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-16 victory over the Huskies. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Proviso East is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Hinsdale Central, their win bumped their record up to 20-7.
