Heartland II recap Oct. 30, 2012
Logan Henry and Clint Snyder provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Troy. The longest such play in Heartland II this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
Kyle Datres and Kyle Datres gave Loyalsock Township. a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Datres threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while Datres ran for 117 yards. Teammate Saabir Gibson added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.
Snyder was the best wideout in the league this week as Hughesville lost to the Trojans. Snyder tallied six receptions for 117 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Jordan Thivierge of Central Columbia is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1543. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Mount Carmel's Luke Klingerman has rushed for 940 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rob Varano. The Mount Carmel star has 37 catches for 593 yards.
The RED TORNADOES's Klingerman needs only 60 yards against Shamokin Area next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in Heartland II this week will be when Montoursville takes on the Lancers. The Warriors are in third place, while Loyalsock Township. is in fifth place.
Montoursville led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Mifflinburg.
