Baseball Recap: First Flight's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

First Flight won the last time they faced Hertford County and things went their way on Friday too. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 21-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won seven matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

First Flight got a massive performance out of Aaron Stewart, who scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five runs gave Stewart a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Francis, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

First Flight kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory (which was First Flight's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Hertford County, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Flight will host Holmes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aces will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hertford County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
