Baseball Recap: Sweetwater Comes Up Short

Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to the Otay Ranch Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Daniel Vidal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Sweetwater's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

Sweetwater now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Otay Ranch, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

While Sweetwater had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
