CenterPoint Christian Academy takes loss despite strong efforts from Gabe Blakenship and Jeremy Boillat

Recap: CenterPoint Christian Academy Lions vs. New Life Christian Academy Knights

The CenterPoint Christian Academy Lions pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to New Life Christian Academy. CenterPoint Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 9th.

Despite the defeat, CenterPoint Christian Academy had strong showings from Jeremy Boillat, who scored 34 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Gabe Blakenship, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Boillat is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last eight games he's played.

CenterPoint Christian Academy dropped their record down to 4-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Life Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CenterPoint Christian Academy will take on the Tartars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Michigan School for the Deaf has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for New Life Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
