Football Recap: Elkin's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

After flying high against North Stokes two weeks ago, Elkin came back down to earth. The Buckin' Elks took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forbush Falcons on Friday. The Buckin' Elks have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Elkin still got an impressive performance from Hector Hernandez, who threw for 66 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also picked up 55 receiving yards.

Keanu Escalante continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Forbush, rushing for 177 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Escalante a new career-high. Tyler Winters was another key player, rushing for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Elkin fell to 2-1. As for Forbush, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkin is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Starmount at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Buckin' Elks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Forbush, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atkins at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
