Softball Recap: Credo Extends Winning Streak to Five

Credo entered their tilt with California School for the Deaf on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 19-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Gryphon, who have now won nine matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Giada Saechao spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered nine runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Aliana Martinez and Josie Malone did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Malone got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Martinez has posted since back in March. Ell Jordan was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Credo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as California School for the Deaf only posted an OBP of .387.

Credo's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for California School for the Deaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8-1.

Credo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-4 win against Laytonville on the 1st. As for California School for the Deaf, they will challenge Head-Royce at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
