The Lincolnton Wolves are taking a road trip to take on the Patton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincolnton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Lincolnton is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering East Burke just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers.

Lincolnton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Cloninger, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Patton hadn't done well against McDowell recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Patton had just enough and edged out McDowell 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Trevor Throneburg, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season.

Lincolnton now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Patton, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincolnton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Patton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts.
