Basketball Recap: Highland Park Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DePaul College Prep, Highland Park was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 34-28 win over the Warren Township Blue Devils. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Highland Park's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Warren Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mundelein the next time they take the court. Highland Park will host Mundelein at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Warren Township will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
