Soccer Game Preview: Copper Hills vs. Farmington

The Copper Hills Grizzlies will challenge the Farmington Phoenix at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Copper Hills' last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Copper Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Grizzlies who were credited with the victory. Copper Hills got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Westlake's three.

Copper Hills better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Farmington's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Farmington really gets things going. The Phoenix blew past American Fork 3-0. Farmington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Jack Burrup and Kade Mackintosh scored all three of Farmington's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Copper Hills' win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Farmington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Copper Hills came up short against Farmington when the teams last played back in March of 2021, falling 2-0. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
