Soccer Game Preview: Greenway vs. Paradise Honors

The Greenway Demons will venture away from home to square off against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenway will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Greenway's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Peoria 4-0. Given the Demons' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Panthers are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenway hit Peoria with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kai Becker (2), Giovanni Ibarra, and Adrian Torres.

Meanwhile, Paradise Honors had just enough and edged Cactus Shadows out 2-1 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Paradise Honors pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matchups. As for Greenway, their record now sits at 7-0.

Greenway beat Paradise Honors 2-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenway since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
