Soccer Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

If Hillcrest was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Jordan last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hillcrest fell just short of the Stansbury Stallions by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Hillcrest couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Irvin Garcia, who's now up to two this season.

Hillcrest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Stansbury now has a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will take on Murray at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hillcrest surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stansbury, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Layton Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
