Challenger hasn't had much luck against Lake Lure Classical Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Challenger Firebirds will head out to challenge the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors at 6:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Braelon Roe and Ashawn Camp.
Challenger is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Pinnacle Classical Academy on Friday. Challenger took a 52-35 bruising from Pinnacle Classical Academy.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Riley Annis, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roe, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lake Lure Classical Academy blew past Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy, posting a 57-20 victory. The Raptors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 32 points or more this season.
Challenger better focus on containing Elijah Hill Moore and Camp as the pair were huge in Lake Lure Classical Academy's win. Hill Moore dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards, while Camp went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of D Watkins, who had four points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
Lake Lure Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Challenger, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Challenger has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Lake Lure Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Challenger took a serious blow against Lake Lure Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in February, falling 68-37. Can Challenger avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
