Softball Recap: St. Clair Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Clair waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Marysville Vikings 4-2. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by exactly two runs.

Hayley McFarlane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madisyn Treat, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Treat is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

St. Clair's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Marysville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Clair will challenge Algonac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Muskrats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Marysville, they will be playing at home against Lakeview at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
