Volleyball Game Preview: Mabel-Canton Cougars vs. Grand Meadow Superlarks

Mabel-Canton is 9-1 against Grand Meadow since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Superlarks at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Mabel-Canton sitting on seven straight victories and Grand Meadow on 17.

If Spring Grove wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mabel-Canton, they should've done a better job of containing Livia Garness. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lions on Thursday with plenty of help from Garness, who had six digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Grand Meadow narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Southland 3-2.

Grand Meadow took Southland into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Mabel-Canton's win bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Grand Meadow, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Everything went Mabel-Canton's way against Grand Meadow when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Mabel-Canton made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Superlarks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
