Volleyball Preview: Timberlake Tigers vs. St. Maries Lumberjacks
Timberlake and St. Maries are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2019, but not for long. The Timberlake Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the St. Maries Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Thursday, Timberlake came up short against Bonners Ferry and fell 3-1. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
While Timberlake ultimately came up short, they really made Bonners Ferry work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-21, 27-25.
Even though they lost, Timberlake was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, St. Maries beat Genesis Prep Academy 3-1 on Wednesday.
The final score came out to 25-15, 24-26, 25-19, 25-15.
Timberlake's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8. As for St. Maries, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15.
