Recap: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. Pasquotank County Panthers
The Northside - Pinetown Panthers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Pasquotank County with points to spare, taking the game 65-50. 65 seems to be a good number for Northside - Pinetown as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Northside - Pinetown found their leader in underclassman Malachi Moore, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Moore has scored at least 25% of Northside - Pinetown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zi'mier Alexander, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Pasquotank County saw an underclassman step up: Tristan Peterson scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Peterson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Kuhn, who scored 13 points.
Northside - Pinetown pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Pasquotank County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside - Pinetown will face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
