Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton lost to Pelahatchie on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers lost 17-5 to the Chiefs.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Pelahatchie, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Newton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Puckett at 6:15 p.m. on the 16th. As for Pelahatchie, they will venture away from home to face off against Raymond at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
