Volleyball Recap: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Horizon Huskies
Campo Verde and Horizon squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Campo Verde had to settle for second. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
While Campo Verde had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Campo Verde saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendal Kellar had ten digs and three assists. Kellar has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.
Horizon can attribute much of their success to Isabelle (Isa) Mcilroy, who had 15 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Mcilroy has posted since back in September. Brooklynn McNulty also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 17-20. As for Horizon, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.
Campo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Horizon, they will challenge Ironwood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
