Basketball Recap: Crest Falls Short of Little River in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Crest can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Little River Redskins and fell 76-27. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Redskins are ranked 16th).

Karlee Boots was Crest's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Aylee Beckmon held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Kinley Edgerton took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.

Little River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Havana Olander led the charge by shooting 78% from the field to rack up 16 points. That's the most points Olander has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Saelyn Raleigh, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 15 points.

With the defeat, Crest broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8. As for Little River, the win keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Crest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Little River, they have already played their next contest, a 68-52 victory against Quinter on the 14th.
