Calvary Christian Academy won the last time they faced Somerset Academy - Canyons and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 18-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Reese Mittauer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Sofia Fine was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Parker Lee, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.
Calvary Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
