Volleyball Recap: Brandon Jemison's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sage Creek over San Dieguito Academy

Sage Creek was the 2-0 winner over San Dieguito Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sage Creek Bobcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs on Wednesday. The Bobcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Sage Creek was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made San Dieguito Academy work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 21-25, 27-25, 25-15.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Jemison, who had 16 assists and 13 digs. That's the most assists Jemison has posted over his last six games. Another player making a difference was YJ Cho, who had 16 assists and nine digs.

Noah Ansaldo was the offensive standout of the match as he had 13 digs and two assists.

Sage Creek now has a losing record of 8-9. As for San Dieguito Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Coming up, Sage Creek will host Torrey Pines at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Dieguito Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
