Football Game Preview: Fairland Owls vs. Talihina Golden Tigers + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Fairland Owls and the Talihina Golden Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fairland comes in on five and Talihina on 12.

Fairland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mangum 24-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Owls were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Talihina against Healdton last Friday as the squad secured a 40-7 win. Fans of the Golden Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Fairland better keep an eye on Landen Griffith. He was instrumental in Talihina's win, rushing for 161 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Griffith has been hot for a while, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last ten times he's played. Talihina's leading receiver Cy Ammons was Griffith's top target yet again, picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

One reason for the win was Talihina's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Samuel Bryant was the leader with two. Colton Jefferson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Talihina's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Fairland, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
