Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Cougars are ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beckman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
