Softball Recap: Appalachian's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Appalachian and Skyline squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Appalachian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 9-2. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Vikings' pitchers proved too tough.

Charlie Payne was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Trinity Day, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Appalachian's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-11-4. As for Skyline, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-31.

As of now, neither Appalachian nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
