Softball Recap: Broad Run Drops Highest Score of Season Against Rock Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Broad Run). They blew past the Rock Ridge Phoenix 17-1 on Wednesday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Annie Market was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Hannah Shamieh was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Broad Run hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Broad Run's record now sits at 7-3. As for Rock Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Broad Run will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The Captains' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rock Ridge, they will head out to face off against Park View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
