Baseball Game Preview: Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils vs. Massena Raiders

The Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Massena Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Ogdensburg Free Academy took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Plattsburgh, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Hornets 8-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won three games in a row.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Massena made sure to put some runs up on the board against Franklin Academy on Tuesday. The Raiders won by a run and slipped past the Huskies 11-10. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Raiders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Corey Monacelli was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base was his first of the season. Michael Herrick was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ogdensburg Free Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Massena, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Ogdensburg Free Academy skirted past Massena 4-2 in their previous matchup on May 1st. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
