Baseball Recap: Dunsmuir Takes a Loss

Dunsmuir had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it 11. They came up short against the Plumas Charter Warriors, falling 21-1. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Plumas Charter, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

For Plumas Charter's part, Dalton Bentz made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bentz has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Plumas Charter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Plumas Charter let Liam Carmichael and Cooper Clark run wild. Carmichael went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Clark is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Joseph, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Plumas Charter beat Dunsmuir by a score of 16-0 later that day.
