Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Independence

Independence waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 36-24 victory over the Soddy Daisy Trojans. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Independence's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points per game. As for Soddy Daisy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Independence will finish 2024 at home by hosting Central at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Soddy Daisy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chattanooga Christian at 2:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
