Wells proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Carlin Railroaders 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Leopards, who have now won eight matches in a row.

Gage Uhlig looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Landon Hall was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raleigh Groves, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wells' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.4 runs. As for Carlin, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Wells wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-4 win against Coleville on the 19th. As for Carlin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-0 defeat against Smith Valley on the 18th.
