Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ellinwood

Ellinwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Minneapolis Lions with a sharp 13-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly 11 runs.

The team relied heavily on Trace Tudor, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Ellinwood's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Hosman, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ellinwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Ellinwood back to even at 11-11. As for Minneapolis, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
