Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Lucas

Mansfield Christian came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Lucas, but Riley Trumpower wouldn't allow it. The Lucas Cubs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mansfield Christian Flames on Saturday, sneaking past 54-52 thanks in part to Trumpower, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Brown, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 13 points gave her a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Lucas and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Mansfield Christian, they moved to 15-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucas will welcome Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mansfield Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Monroeville at 7:30 p.m.
