Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin fell victim to Geneva and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 21-0 to the Vikings. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost six in a row.

Elgin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xiamara Lawrence, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those hits were Lawrence's first of the season.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Geneva, their record now sits at 3-7.

Coming up, Elgin will be playing at home against West Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Geneva, they will venture away from home to face off against Glenbard North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
